What is community solar?
Community solar lets New Orleanians save money with solar energy without installing panels on their own roof. Subscribers receive credits on their regular electric bill for their share of the power produced.
You stay with the same utility, and nothing changes about how electricity reaches your home.
Who’s leading this project?
Construction will soon begin on a community solar project on Dwyer Road, located on land owned by the Sisters of the Holy Family.
This project is led by Together New Orleans (TNO), a local nonprofit expanding access to affordable clean energy, in partnership with the Sisters of the Holy Family, who are hosting the project on their land.
Project benefits include:
Clean, renewable energy produced locally
Lower electric bills for subscribers
No rooftop installation or long-term commitment
Income supporting the Sisters’ mission
Reduced air pollution in the neighborhood
