Frequently Asked Questions: July 13th Delegates Assembly

  • I’m not registered for the July 13th Delegates Assembly. Can I attend?

Registration is mandatory to attend the Delegates Assembly on July 13th. In order to attend you must be one of the seven delegates brought by a participating institution.

If you are not a delegate with a participating institution, you are invited to participate at our Citywide Convocation in September with candidates for Mayor and City Council. This event will have greater seating capacity, accommodating 3,000+ attendees.

  • Where can I find the links to register?

If your organization has been invited but has not yet RSVP’d, please register your organization here.

If your organization has registered but has not yet confirmed your representatives, please submit your seven delegates here.

  • What time should I arrive, and where can I park?

The Delegates Assembly will begin promptly at 3pm. Please allot ample time to park, check in, and be seated before this time. Check-in will open at 2pm.

Parking will be available on Dillard University’s campus. You may need to walk 10-15 minutes across the campus. There will be signage and parking attendants to help you find the location.

  • What accessibility and translation services will be provided?

The building is wheelchair accessible. If you or a member of your delegation will require wheelchair accessible seating, please email us at contact@togetherla.org so we can make arrangements for your delegation.

There will be translation services for Spanish speakers.

There will not be ASL interpretation services.

  • How do we ensure that change will happen on the issue we select?

When we identify an issue, we also create a plan to address it. For each issue in the campaign, we put forth trackable metrics to measure progress on improvements. We will work with elected officials to keep these solutions at the forefront year-round, not just during election cycles.

  • Are we endorsing candidates for Mayor and City Council?

No! The Future of Our City campaign is not about endorsements; it’s about our community’s ability to drive forward the solutions we need.

In July, we will ratify an issue and a roadmap to ensure that change on the issue is delivered. At our Citywide Convocation in September, we will invite the candidates to commit to the selected issue and work with us past the election to enact tangible, community-driven change.
