Louisiana Illuminator: Paid job-training available in New Orleans renewable energy sector

Anyone interested in working in the renewable energy sector can sign up for a paid job-training course in green infrastructure and construction in New Orleans.

Louisiana Green Corps, a workforce training group, has partnered with the nonprofit Together New Orleans to offer a 10- to 14-week training and certification program in a variety of fields related to renewable energy construction. The partnership grew out of Together New Orleans’ Community Lighthouse project, which aims to build solar-plus-battery resilience hubs in every neighborhood.

Participants can earn stipends of up to $5,000, paid work experience and other incentives.

The program begins Feb. 26. Interested applicants must attend an in-person informational session noon Thursday, Feb. 1, at 2645 Toulouse St. in New Orleans.

Register and find more information at togethernola.org/greenjobs.
